JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA is used for lip augmentation and correction of perioral lines. It is also used to treat tear trough deformity and the appearance of under-eye hollows. Intended for the treatment of any fine lines and medium-sized skin depressions due to conditions such as premature aging. The product contains lidocaine, which makes the treatment painless and comfortable for the patient.

Ingredient Information

This injectable solution is composed of specially formulated hyaluronic acid. Using Allergan’s Vycross Technology, its more effective cross-linking process allows for a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid compared to other fillers. This lower concentration absorbs less water, which means there will be less swelling upon injection. The smooth gel also results in a much more natural look, as well as longer lasting results. The presence of the anesthetic lidocaine also helps to reduce discomfort during treatment.

Use Instructions

How do I use or apply this product?

This Juvederm® formulation should only be injected by licensed medical professionals who are trained and experienced in injection techniques. Prior to injection, cleanse and disinfect the area to be treated. Inject the solution into the superficial or mid-dermis or lip mucosa using a 30G½” needle or 30G sterile cannula, depending on the injection technique you will be using. Once injected, gently massage the area of treatment to ensure even distribution.

When should I use this product?

This product should be used in patients who are seeking to improve their lip contour, boost volume, smooth vertical creases around the mouth, and accentuate the border of the lips while maintaining a natural appearance.

What areas can I treat with this product?

Volbella can treat the following areas and issues:

• Vertical lines (aka smoker’s lines, marionette lines);
• Lip volume;
• And lip contour (including accentuating the lip border and enhancing the cupid’s bow).

How long does the product last?

The duration of results will vary depending on a variety of factors, including the age and lifestyle of the patient, the area being treated, and the injection technique used. On average, patients will see results that last for up to 12 months. Patients can return once a year after the initial treatment to receive touch ups.

How long does the treatment take?

An average treatment session takes approximately 10 to 30 minutes, though this will depend on the patient’s needs and the amount of volume being added. Results will be immediate, though some swelling is expected as well. There is virtually no downtime for the patient, and they can return to their daily routine immediately. However, patients should be advised to avoid using makeup for 12 hours after injection.
